In accordance with his duty to uphold the law, the Nebraska Attorney General filed a lawsuit today in the District Court of Lancaster County against certain members of the Nebraska Legislature who voted to unlawfully issue a subpoena to the Director of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. The multiple reasons why the subpoena was unlawfully issued are stated in the lawsuit.  The Attorney General has requested the district court to quash the subpoena and to require senators to comply with the law in the future.
