Lincoln— Last week, Jordan Hill and Kimberly Hill of Omaha appeared before Judge Kimberly Pankonin in Douglas County District Court. The Hills are mother and son. The Hills each were charged with felony counts of theft by unlawful taking. The Nebraska State Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud and Patient Abuse Unit investigators found that they each had stolen money from their mother and grandmother, Mary Hill. Mary Hill is a resident of an Omaha area nursing home.

Jordan Hill pled no contest and was found guilty of one count of theft by unlawful taking, a Class IV felony. He was sentenced to five years probation, ordered to serve 180 days in jail (waivable) and ordered to pay restitution of $7,229.84 to his grandmother.

Kimberly Hill pled no contest and was found guilty of one count of theft by unlawful taking, a Class I misdemeanor. She was sentenced to one year of probation, 90 days in jail (waivable) and ordered to pay restitution of $1,123.60 to her mother.

These cases were investigated by the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud and Patient Abuse Unit with assistance from Adult Protective Services. Assistant Attorneys General Mark Collins and Sallie Dietrich prosecuted the cases.
