Lincoln -- The Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force (NHTTF) led by the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office is set to complete an eight-city training campaign in Lincoln on May 7th.
In January of this year, Attorney General Mike Hilgers announced in-person training in Scottsbluff, North Platte, Beatrice, Columbus, Grand Island, Lexington, O’Neill, and Lincoln to combat human trafficking.
So far, hundreds of law enforcement professionals, prosecutors, medical professionals, and advocates have attended the training.
“I am proud of the work the Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force has done this year to educate Nebraskans on the signs of human trafficking and how to combat it. Our team has not only been strengthening understanding but building relationships with the purpose of helping to bring traffickers to justice,” stated Attorney General Hilgers.
The final NHTTF community training will be held at the UNL Nebraska Union in the Platte River Room on May 7th at 7:00 p.m. This event is open to the public. No registration is required, and there is no cost.
Earlier in the day, there will be separate trainings designed for law enforcement professionals, prosecutors, medical professionals, and advocates. Anyone interested in attending the Lincoln training can registerhere.
