Scottsbluff Man Sentenced 60 Years to Life for 2nd Degree Murder

Dylan Cardeilhac was sentence to 60 years to life yesterday in Scotts Bluff County for second degree murder.

This case was tried by Assistant Attorneys General, Doug Warner and Kale Burdick.

On December 3, 2013, Dylan Cardeilhac of Torrington, WY, along with an accomplice, committed an armed robbery of the Kwik Stop in Mitchell, Nebraska.  Cardeilhac was later arrested and lodged in the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center.

On February 14, 2014, while being held pending trial on the robbery charge, Cardeilhac attacked Corrections Officer Amanda Baker in his cell.  He put her in a chokehold and strangled her in an effort to escape from custody.  Baker died at the hospital as a result of the attack.

Following a jury trial in November 2014, Cardeilhac was convicted of Second Degree Murder.
