Nebraska Attorney General

NE and OK v. CO Lawsuit

Lincoln - This afternoon, the Nebraska State Attorney General’s office received Colorado’s response to the Nebraska and Oklahoma v. Colorado lawsuit. The official filing will be received by the United States Supreme Court early next week as delivered by mail. Once the filing is docketed, Nebraska will wait to hear from the Court. Justices may read the complaint at any time and respond up until April 27th, which is the last conference day of the Court’s term. If Nebraska does not hear by the April date, any additional response would not occur until fall.

The Nebraska Attorney General’s office has been working in anticipation of the Colorado response. Attorney General Doug Peterson and his office are currently reviewing the brief filed by Colorado.
