Media Advisory for the Opioid Summit Report Press Conference

WHAT:         

Release of Summit Report by the Nebraska Coalition to Prevent Opioid Abuse 

 Background:

October 14th marked the one year anniversary of the successful summit, “Charting the Road to Recovery: Nebraska’s Response to Opioid Abuse" to proactively address prescription and illicit opioid abuse in Nebraska through a multi-disciplinary coalition centered on prevention, treatment, and law enforcement.  Following the summit, the lead coalition partners, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, the University of Nebraska Medical Center, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nebraska, and the Nebraska Office of the Attorney General, reconvened to analyze responses to summit participant surveys and develop a framework of strategic initiatives of the Nebraska Coalition to Prevent Opioid Abuse. 

 The October 19th media conference will feature coalition partners highlighting progress.

*Directions: From I-80, take 42nd St. north. Once you get past Leavenworth St., go up the hill to Emile St. Turn right (east).
