Long Sentenced to 60 - 80 Years in Child Death

Today, Judge Vicky L. Johnson sentenced Anthony Long, of Geneva, to 10 to 20 years on Child Abuse Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and 50 to 60 years on Child Abuse Resulting in Death. Long was convicted on July 1, 2016. His sentences were ordered to run consecutively, so he will serve for 60 to 80 years.

Anthony Long was 23 years old when he abused his own five-week old son on April 26, 2014.

The Nebraska State Patrol and the Filmore County Sheriff’s Office both participated in the investigation. Nebraska Assistant Attorneys General, Bill Tangeman and Charles Byrd, prosecuted the case.
