Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW)

The State of Nebraska recognizes licenses or permits to carry a concealed handgun issued by some other states, as well as the District of Columbia. Pursuant to Nebraska’s Concealed Handgun Permit Act, the determination of whether to recognize a state’s licenses or permits is made by the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office.

Once a determination is made to recognize a state’s licenses or permits to carry a concealed handgun, the Attorney General’s Office shares this information with the Nebraska State Patrol. On behalf of the Attorney General’s Office, the State Patrol maintains a list of recognized states and publishes that list on its website. The list of states whose licenses and permits to carry a concealed handgun are recognized as valid within the State of Nebraska can be found by clicking here.

Additional information regarding concealed carry in Nebraska may also be found on the Nebraska State Patrol’s website.

Nebraska’s Concealed Handgun Permit Act is codified in the Nebraska Revised Statutes at §§ 69-2427 through 69-2449.
