Assistant Attorney General Mary Marcum Receives 2026 Emerging Leader Award

This month at its biannual meeting, the Nebraska County Attorneys Association named Mary Marcum, an Assistant Attorney General with the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office Criminal Bureau, as the 2026 recipient of their Emerging Leader Award

Over the past four years with the office, Marcum has assisted numerous counties in prosecuting a wide range of felony cases across the state, including homicide, and she has earned recognition for her legal research and writing.  Marcum has also developed an expertise in post-conviction law and has shared that expertise through teaching on the subject at the Nebraska County Attorney Association meeting and authoring a practice guide for their handbook.

The award recognizes Marcum’s leadership, legal ability, and contributions to public service in Nebraska’s justice system.
